07 Mar 2024 - MGOL - Joseph Nicéphore Niépce - Birth Anniversary

Happy Birth Anniversary to the man who got us into taking pictures or photographs. The inventor of the Camera - Joseph Nicephore Niepce (France) - 07 March.

Though Photography from his time has developed unimaginably, into advances in technology and equipment, a photography enthusiast like me owes it to this great man who created the first working camera and used the technology called Heliography to produce the printout of the photograph clicked. Another Guru of my life.

Joseph Nicephore Niepce (b. 07 March 1765 - d. 05 July 1833)

The very first photograph 1826 on a photographic plate

This is the camera used by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. It was called Camera Obsura

A recreation of Camera Obscura.

Another of the earliest photograph. 1827. Its a first printout too.

My minuscule contribution to the ocean of photography...that has evolved over time.
This photo is one of my many favourites. Bhubaneswar - Mumbai Konark Express entering Wadi Jn. (Karnataka) at a speed of around 60kmph...I am at the far end of this nearly 600m long beast... Everything is moving, swaying, very noisy and there is no second chance....you position yourself...with safety....Wait...see...Wait...see..Wait...and click...that's it...no second take or chance. See if you can see the locomotive and count the coach number from which I have clicked this photograph. Zoom in.Clicked in July 2017.
