20 Dec 2022 - Concert - Khandala

Dr. Salil Latay - In Concert - Sukoonbhare Nagme

Sukoonbhare Nagme with Vocal Sonata enthrals the Reunion of the 1979 Batch of Mechanical Engineering of the prestigious The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara (GJ).

The audience – vibrant, appreciative and enthusiastic about every song. The setting – at a resort atop a mountain range with picturesque beauty all around with an engineering and super human living heritage marvel, nearly 160 years old and still running strong, a few hundred metres underground – the longest tunnel of the famous Bhor Ghat also called Khandala Ghat of the Mumbai - Pune Rail Route. The Ghat secton between Karjat and Lonavala via Khandala with this venue location on the outskirts of Khandala and the famous Monkey Hill.

All thanks to the belief and support by one more of the long time pillar of my Mission of Melody – Mr. Nagesh Chavan – who organised this Reunion of his Engineering Classmates and organised my Concert as a part of this celebration. A memorable occasion and presentation indeed.

Thank You Nagesh Chavan Sir and each of the vibrant audience.

All set for a new journey with Vocal Sonata and Sukoonbhare Nagme

As always...I explain this most unique concert presentation to a vibrant audience who is completely bewildered when I inform them about the significance of the location they are seated atop with trains running crisscross a few hundred metres below - a 160 year old engineering and super human marvel!

And yet another musical flight takes off - action mode...

The flight is smooth with curious looks about - how can one single artist be multitasking - singing + playing the piano + conducting and connecting with the audience - all Live and in Real Time?...That's Vocal Sonata - The Real Solo Concert!

The audience is transported into the world of Sukoon or Serenity - the one thing...we all yearn for...The faces of all say it all!

The audience in rapt attention throughout the musical flight. That's the power of words - enhanced by this unique concert presentation format - a one of its kind in the entire world.

This journey is almost over...and my look is - Where is the next musical destination?

Appreciation and "Could I get your Card please?" Sure Sir!

More appreciation, more sharing of what this concert does to the audience and inquisitiveness about my journey with music and this unique format. I call all this - Mission of Melody and the Mission of my life - to spread Sukoon or Serenity.

The audience moves in for an impromptu group photograph with the artist. 1979 Batch of Mechanical Engineering of M S University, Vadodara at Reunion 2022. What an honour! Thanks everyone!

And the man who got me and my Mission of Melody to - one more wonderful opportunity - Mr. Nagesh Chavan. Thank You Sir. Hu Abhaari Chhu! (I am thankful. tr. Gujarati)

11 December 2022 - The Take Off Concert - Easy Listening English Melodies - Pune

Dr. Salil Latay - In Concert - Easy Listening English Melodies

Mission of Melody with Vocal Sonata embarks on a new and most exciting journey – launch of a new concert concept – transcending the barrier of language and nationalities. Singing from the stage now in the Lingua Franca - the language of the world – English.

Songs in English language...but with the same focus as in Hindustani – beauty and depth of the words and a presentation of Serenity!

Songs of the heart and songs of the soul - When one is alone, when deep in thoughts – the songs, one remembers and connects with are those with powerful words and deep meaning. This phenomenon is true all over the world in all languages including English.

Soft, meaningful and deep meaning songs have been remembered, sung, performed and been cherished across eras of time and nationality. These are the very songs that have also been the most recognised and rewarded as milestone creations in the ongoing journey of humanity with music.

With exactly this same thought, comes a proper classy Concert – a unique presentation of Soft, Meaningful Easy Listening English Melodies.

A celebration of words, a celebration of human emotions and a celebration of humanity by not bounding itself to any specific time era or any specific artist.

A Concert of Easy Listening English Melodies

And...the very first organiser of this most unique presentation – RAAH – A Literacy and Cultural Centre of the famous The Raahat Foundation, Pune headed by its Dynamic Director - Mrs. Aiman Mehta along with her wonderful team who organised a great event.

The audience response was overwhelming and the concept was very well received and appreciated. The journey has just started and shall continue...

Thank You RAAH, Thank You Mrs. Aiman Mehta and Thank You to each of the audience who attended and witnessed this historic lift off or take off.

All set for a new journey with my Mission of Melody...

7PM IST and the Lift Off or Take Off starts.....Born Free is the first song at Opening!

I explain the concept....Thinking outside the box! - That's exactly my secret of 19 years of journey with Serenity (Sukoon) in Music...Today's launch of yet another new concept epitomised just that!

Ladies, Gentlemen and Children of all ages.... I come to you with good words, deep meaning, simple tunes, the simplest presentation format ever possible and guaranteed Serenity!

The Journey continues with one song after the other

The audience is shocked with every song - I could hear that at the start of every song. English songs have a plethora of song concepts and this concert concept presents many such milestone creations...a treat for a real connoisseur. The expressions say it all!

A view from the audience end....Thank You to each of the vibrant and lively person - You have been very kind!

The power of words...Think about its connection with you and your take on it ... A new experience everytime

In action....at the equipment / instrument level.

The action of Vocal Sonata - The Instrument/Equipment along with the Vocals..all working in perfect coordination and combination...a one of its kind in the world!

And...the end of a magnificent inaugural musical flight. I wrap up the papers of song lyrics as the audience starts an impromptu interaction with me...a very regular feature for me...even before I leave the stage to meet them in person!

With the First Organiser of this unique concert concept - RAAH - A Literacy & Cultural Centre, Pune, headed by its Dynamic Director - Mrs. Aiman Mehta - one of the biggest supporter of my Mission of Melody since my very first presentation at RAAH in 2018. This was my 5th presentation with RAAH.

Thank You RAAH, Thank You Mrs. Aiman Mehta and Yes...the journey with RAAH continues...

Songs of the heart and songs of the soul

No Foot-Tapping here,

But let’s tap your mind and tap your thoughts

Where words come to life

Peace and happiness – that’s the goal

Sit back, relax and enjoy

13 Nov 2022 - Concert - Manerwadi

Dr. Salil Latay - In Concert - Sukoonbhare Nagme

Nearly 40+ Medical Practitioners and their spouses who entered the First Year MBBS degree course at the prestigious Byramjee Jeejeebhoy better known as B J Medical College in Pune in 1967, gathered for a reunion at a picturesque location at a forest house atop one of the hilly ranges surrounding the famous Kille Sinhagad (Sinhagad - earlier known as Kondhana Fort of the famous Tanaji Malusare - Udaybhan Rathod Battle of 1670 and capital of Swarajya for a brief period) on one side and the beautiful backwaters of Khadakwasla Dam on the River Mutha – the main source of water supply to the city of Pune on the other.

The reunion was organised by Dr. Shripad Dabak and his family. Dr. Dabak is a Senior Medical Practitioner and a passionate Social Worker with a great zeal for life and music – a true connoisseur (Rasikjan). This reunion – catching up on stories, memories and remembering the good old days by all those present – all at the top end of their game professionally and personally – was gifted by Dr. Dabak with a concert of Sukoonbhare Nagme presented by Dr. Salil Latay with his unique presentation format of Vocal Sonata – that quickly became a subject of enquiry and interest to this super intellectual audience – the ones who had scientifically studied the working of a human brain and the element of coordination in the human body when multitasking. Vocal Sonata is an epitome of coordinated multitasking - resulting in a smashing hit concert appreciated by each one right from the word go until the very last song. What an experience!

Thank You Dr. Shripad Dabak for your belief once again and this second opportunity, Thank You Dabak Family and Thank You to each one in the audience. I am truly honoured to sing for you.

The backdrop created for the occasion, a visual treat of the surroundings along with a journey with Sukoonbhare Nagme

The flight with Sukoonbhare Nagme took off and the audience was transported into the world of Sukoon. The expression say it all...

After a few songs, the scientific enquiry took over and then it was a combination of Lecture Demo on one hand and like being under an MRI Machine on the other, with many keenly observing my every move!

In rapt attention to every detail seen and heard

Appreciation and more appreciation.

Thank You so much Sir. I am truly honoured!  Dr. Salil Latay with Dr. Shripad Dabak

Journey with Sukoonbhare Nagme in action with Vocal Sonata

Every song being appreciated by one and all

The highlight of this appreciation was this Super Audience - Mr. Rugved Nagpure - age 6, who sat in the very front row and actually sang along and even mimicked my hand movements on the Synthesizer playing the Piano and even gave his own facial expressions to every song he heard. Now that's a real connoisseur - Thank You Sir for your appreciation. I asked him to honour me with a photograph and he obliged.

The post concert felicitation by Basant Bahar Colony was also graced by the little connoisseur. Each one looking at the camera of his choice!

Thank You Suneetaji for this wonderful opportunity!
