Founded by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger (USA) from the former concept of Nupedia.

The world’s largest reference website has an average of 2 Billion visitors monthly as of November 2023, with more than 6000 visitors per second from all over the globe, with more that 62 Million Articles in more than 300 languages - all created, uploaded, edited and updated by around 11.1 Crore Registered Users who collaborate and write these articles voluntarily with 2.8 Lakh editors, managed by the Wikimedia Foundation in San Francisco (USA).

Not a single day goes by without me referring to this magnificent treasure of information and knowledge. Thank You Mr. Wales, Mr. Sanger and all at Wikipedia for making and gifting us this gateway of infinite knowledge... Happy Birthday Wikipedia - The Free Encyclopedia.
